			<description><![CDATA[<p>E Policing Report for September 16, 2009<br /><br />09/15/2009 @ 0904 hours<br /><br />Larceny from a Vehicle<br /><br />600 Block of Virginia St.<br /><br />The victim stated that an unknown suspect entered his unsecured vehicle. Once inside, the suspect removed a firearm (Taurus PT 145 Pro. .45 Cal Semi-Auto handgun, Serial Number # NAV24670). The firearm has been entered into NCIC.<br /><br />09/15/2009 @ 1526 hours<br /><br />Residential Breaking and Entering<br /><br />1904 Bedford Rd.An unknown suspect used a shovel to pry open a window on the rear of the residence. The suspect then ransacked the master bedroom, however, failed to remove any items. The suspect exited through the point of entry and fled the scene in an unknown direction or method of travel.<br /><br />9-15-09 @ 2113 hours<br /><br />Residential Breaking and Entering<br /><br />1277 Katherine Trail<br /><br />An unknown suspect kicked in the front door and removed a Samsung flat screen television.<br /><br />9-15-09 @ 1923 hours<br /><br />Common Law Robbery/2nd Degree Kidnapping<br /><br />1511 Benvenue Rd (Wal-Mart)<br /><br />Victim: Joshua Caleb Thomas, age 17<br /><br />Suspect(s): Jock Hargrove, age 34<br /><br />Officers responded to the Bowling Center in reference to a kidnapping and robbery case that began in the parking lot at Wal-mart. The victim stated that the suspect approached the victim in the parking lot of Wal-Mart and demanded a ride to his vehicle. The victim drove the suspect to 904 Wave Lane. During the ride, the suspect demanded money from the victim. The victim gave the suspect $11.00. Once at Wave Lane, the suspect exited the vehicle and the victim sped away driving to the Bowling Center where he called police. Through further investigation, the suspect was identified as Jock Hargrove. Warrants were obtained on Hargrove for Common Law Robbery and 2nd Degree Kidnapping. An officer located Hargrove approximately four hours later walking down the street in Holiday Estates in Battleboro. Hargrove was placed under a $15,000 secure bond with a first appearance of 9-17-09 and was transported to Nash County Jail.<br /><br />9-16-09 @ 0312 hours<br /><br />1st Degree Burglary<br /><br />608B Arrington St<br /><br />Suspect: Unknown black male<br /><br />Female victim reported that she heard a knock at the door and when she opened the door, an unknown black male forced his way in and assaulted the victim. The suspect then cut the phone line and left the scene. The victim was transported to Nash General Hospital for treatment of injuries.<br /><br />ATM Safety Tips<br /><br />Only use ATM machines in well-lighted, open, high-traffic areas<br /><br />Use ATMs at inside locations when possible<br /><br />If the lights around an ATM are not working, do not use that machine<br /><br />Avoid bank ATM machines adjacent to obvious hiding places, thick bushes, etc.<br /><br />Avoid walk-up ATM machines; use the drive up machines if possible<br /><br />Avoid ATM machines at night<br /><br />When you approach an ATM, scan the area first for loiterers or suspicious persons<br /><br />Have your card ready and leave quickly; do not count your cash in public<br /><br />Keep your pass code private. Do not write the code on your card or within your wallet.<br /><br />Do not use machines if you observe odd mechanisms attached to the card reader. These can be used to copy your information and gain access to your account. Check with your bank about new equipment on the ATM if you have any concerns.<br /><br />Walk, run, or drive away immediately if your instincts tell you so<br /><br />Beware of offers for help from strangers during an ATM transaction<br /><br />If you are robbed at an ATM, drive or walk to a safe place and immediately and call 911, giving a detailed description of the suspect<br /><br />Get the information FIRST with E-Policing!<br /><br />E-Policing is the Rocky Mount Police Department s way of bringing community policing to the Internet.
