If survivors were shot, their bodies would reveal that fact (autopsy and X-rays). Thus, upon the return of the bodies to Poland, the wounds would have been documented and photos subsequently published all over the world. Therefore, lacking further evidence, I chose not to believe these rumors.

<br />I've read that rumor in 2-3 places. If true it goes back to the type activity taking place during the Cold War. Mad Magazine had a cartoon depicting that type activity "Spy vs Spy".

Oh boy, I came across this blog by a guy in Holland. He has posted 2 videos from youtube of the scene of the Polish plane crash. You can hear the gun shots if that's what they are. One vid has some English translation from Russian. The story also says the guy that shot the video has now been assasinated.

I read all the comments after the videos and they are interesting. One says the translation of don't shoot is wrong, not what the person said. So why doesn't he give us the correct translation then?

It would make sense that if the Russians did this they would have a squad on the ground to wipe out any survivors.
