And it has the never to ask me if I give permission to change the date and time, when I click on the clock to set the time back to the correct time? lol,

Do you have AntiVirus software, Is it up to date, and have you done a full system scan lately?

most likely the battery, that costs less than $3.00. The problem is getting to it on a laptop. usually means removing the back cover. a couple of computer functions can interfere with the time setting, it is rare for these to cause a noticeable change in time. Have you checked to see if the manufacturer has any known problem areas, is any other user having same problem(google with problem description and brand)

Being always plugged in can shorten the life of the battery. Replace the battery...!

Yeah, it shouldn't be the battery in less than a year. BUT...if you run out of options, check to see that it is charged. Understand it is not the main laptop battery but a totally separate battery.

Most likely you could just tell them your exact computer model number and buy the battery and ask them how to replace. I don't think they would charge for instructions. Your bios setup is available to access during boot up, The first splash screen gives you the key to press for setup typically F2 or del. Be careful READ before you change anything the date and time for the machine is usually on the first page if it wrong set it correctly and save and exit. If you have any reservations take to expert. And of course make sure your Vista is all updated via windows update.

A couple of times a week, my laptop's clock changes time and date all by itself, and then I have to change it back to the correct time. The time can be off by just one hour, or by a few hours. The date is usually a day behind, but mostly a day forward.

Any help would be appreciated. I searched on the net for a solution, but there so many supposed solutions.
