<br />"Salazar took over Interior in January 2009, vowing to restore the department's "respect for scientific integrity." He immediately traveled to MMS headquarters outside Denver and delivered a beat-down to staffers for their "blatant and criminal conflicts of interest and self-dealing" that had "set one of the worst examples of corruption and abuse in government." Promising to "set the standard for reform," Salazar declared, "The American people will know the Minerals Management Service as a... [ More ]

there are still so many unanswered questions.....with news stations craving the big story, why are we not seeing interveiw after interveiw with the gulf coast residents? Katrina coverage was shoved down our throats until hell wouldn't have it. Where the hell are the tree huggers? where are all the hollywood big mouthes? why are we not aloud to see the clean up? since when does BP dictate to us what we can and cannot film on our shores and in our waters. ? or maybe it's not BP ...maybe our government doesn't want the country to become outraged by what we see. Why all the secrecy? And why is it so hard for gulf coast leaders to do preventive measures? we have thousands of people willing to donate time and money ( myself included) are being told no...this is BP'S mess they get to clean it! Just sit and wait for the oil to creep up the eastern seaboard...this just does not make sense. It what seem a true journalist would want some of these answers. Wish Walter Cronkite were here.... [ More ]
