In mich, if you smoke within 50 feet of a building you can be ticketed even OUTSIDE.

We've had the smoking ban here for years. When it was new, one bar owner put a sign in his window that said "It's my fu**ing bar" only he spelled it correctly. I remember a road billboard in town said " At least you can still smoke in your car". One resturant got around the rule by making a separate room with it's own separate ventilating system. My friend took me to that room and it wasn't fun because nobody was there but us. In SAn Franciso you can't smoke in your apartment if it has shared air conditioning with other units. Sheesh!... Thanks for the post cutlassbob. 1. I agree with the boycott..but they should have had the players impose the boycott not the businesses , puts a new twist, if the customers do the screaming. 2. The state will review those places and punish has they see fit, it could be a complete loss of the ability to sell tickets or it could be a temporary suspension. 3. Smoking Ban Critics Urge Lottery Boycott

Some bars, restaurants, and private club owners are fighting back after claims the smoking ban is hurting business. They re hoping a lottery boycott sends a message.

An event billed on Facebook as the Michigan Lottery Boycott calls for those businesses to not sell certain lottery products from 11 a.m. on Saturday to 2 a.m. on Sunday. The boycott could affect sales of Keno, pull tabs, and other games.

The Michigan Lottery says businesses would only be hurting themselves because they would lose commissions. A business that refuses to sell games could be reviewed by lottery officials.

The Director of Public Relations for the Michigan Lotto, Andi Brancato says, When we negotiate and make an arrangement with a lottery retailer, we expect them to sell our products. So if we are made aware that they are not selling we would have to take a look at that retailer.

Brady s in Traverse City has not decided whether or not they will participate in the boycott, but they are feeling the affects of the recently enacted smoking ban.

Wendy Blodgett says My lunch crowd from the neighborhood is gone. People are not coming in.

I used to frequent the local establishments and Drink, Smoke and Play Keno, pull tabs, etc. But ever since the Smoking Ban i've made a decision to stay home, Eat, Drink, Smoke etc. Which means NO MORE KENO or PULLTABS 4 ME.

Sorry Eating / Libation Establishments, the State of Michigan is at Fault.

What really gets me is The State of Michigan leaves it up to Business Owners to allow or NOT ,Open Carry Law which we have here in Michigan. But makes a LAW that Business Owners MUST Comply with NO Smoking in their Businesses.

I'm a gun owner and i Smoke and I VOTE. BOY I got smacked in the FACE Twice!! Maybe the Voting issue will get us justice.
