Had my son not suggested I try it I would never have bothered. It's actually quite tasty. Several different types are for sale in Publix, but the plain regular type has a cumin flavor. Cumin is used in chili to give it that chili taste ... you'd recognize it immediately.

Tribe hummus?

I was sitting at the bird cage having my daily visit with my kokatiel before he went to bed the other night. While visiting I was reading the newspaper on the floor of the cage. It had the weekly grocery store page on the floor so I was reading that to see what appealed to me. I came across an item that said tribe hummus. Now I said to I what the hell is that. I never heard of it before. With the word hummus I thought it was something they dug up in the peat bogs or somewhere and prepared food out of it. I was thinking it had to be something like ground bog moss. I said to I ( I is not the name of the bird. I is my space alien friend.) anyhow I said to I that stuff must taste like day old road kill.

Well I sat down at the computer to catch up on the news and lottery results but decided to do a search and find out what the hell that stuff is. Sure enough it popped up and told me what it is. A middle eastern bean dish and how it is prepared. When has that dish become popular to sell in the market?

I like bean dishes but never had that one.

... [ More ]
