The people could fix everything if they would just step up. It takes everyone to get things done, but our system is what it is because we have failed to take action to make it change. For instance, if we were to file petitions to have them all removed and get enough support to place it on the next ballot we could start having term limits on all government offices and things could possibly change. But we all just sit back and complain. Complaining gets us nowhere. We need to step up and take action.... [ More ]

Currently, our U.S. Congress is broken and corrupt. For the past three years, OpenCongress has successfully led the fight to fix it.

By broken, we mean that the anti-democratic rules of the U.S. Senate -- for example, the dreaded filibuster -- have crashed the legislative system. By corrupt, we don't mean one political party or another, but rather that the ethics rules of Congress have crumbled in a wave of campaign contributions and corporate lobbying. Last week, a Gallup poll of confidence in public institutions rated Congress dead last.

The problems are clear: a lack of transparency in Congress and too much money in politics. OpenCongress is a solution. We've already become a leader in open and accountable government, but like you, we want to do more. Can you donate to fixing Congress?

Join here...http://www.opencongress.org/

... [ More ]
