Did not do leaves last fall. I have a mulcher bagger mower so I mow the leaves rather than rake. I have a blower to blow the leaves away from the foundation and other tight spots. Crank up the mower, RUUUMMM, RRUUUUMMMM. mow the leaves and bag them. Get a lot of leaves in a bag too. Daamm bags are 50 cents each. I have quite a few leaves in my yard but I get the front and back yard done with about 6 bags. If I raked it and put them in the bag by hand would have been about 25 bags.

The best trick is to wait until the leaves are nice and crispy. Mulches up into nice fine pieces. put the leaves in the bag and compress it down. Do about 4 or 5 mower bags per leaf bag compressing down.

Probably saved 10 dollars in bags. What can I buy with 10 dollars. Large box of oatmeal, couple loaves of bread, Couple dozen eggs, Margarine, maybe a little left over for jam.

That right there is enough for breakfast for about 6 weeks for one person.

The truck came today and took what I had ready. I had 1 bag and a trash can full. They will dump the trash can in the truck and throw the bag in. I was in the back yard and missed his arrival otherwise I would have run out and dumped the bag in the truck myself and used the bag again. 50 cents gone to waste. Thats almost a half dozen eggs.

Save those nickles, dimes, quarters and half dollars. Could save you from going hungry one day.

... [ More ]
