Sleep well. Rest easy knowing there are probably US troops out there somewhere keeping an eye open for reasons to come in and use force against anyone the prez feels might be threatening your freedom and well being inside your national boundaries. Jack

Life's all got to be a blessing, to my way of thinking shalini. Every moment of it a point for gratitude. I don't see any of it as a curse, but I don't mind mine not lasting so long I'm tempted to think of it in those terms. Pilots used to laughingly say, "Ha! Cheated death one more time," after a successful landing. My point with this blog entry was to observe that cheating death is something a person mightn't find gratifying after a point. My grandmother who died a couple of years ago once told me that she had always wanted to have a long life. But, at the age of 94 discovered that old age was a curse and she wished she had passed on earlier. And mind you, she lived with my dad till she died and he was an exemplary son. Old age with its umpteen problems and loneliness ca be a definite curse.

I have seen older folks when I was younger which are my age now or older end up very bitter about living their life the way they did and not changing it when needed.
