@Rick Yeah, when I was a teenager there was talk of California breaking off and falling in the ocean. My cousin lived near San Francisco and was really afraid. I think they gave dates for it. I'm not close to any major fault lines but have felt some whoppers here originating from the south or north. I wish I had one of those little radiation gizmos.
188 days between those quakes? That's amazing!! Thanx for the heads up

I just watched the movie from 1979 - The China Syndrome. Couldn't be more relavent right now. That was a great movie and still holds up. May be that it's available to watch online and maybe for free. I'm going to do a search for Silkwood which was based on a true story of a nuclear power plant gone wrong.

Being this far away from ground zero in Japan the radiation may be at low level when it reaches here.
They use to do above ground nuclear testing out west years ago so the fear factor may be a bit exaggerated but do take protection.
There were nuclear bombs dropped on Japan with a high radiation level and I do not know the results of the worldwide spread of those bombs.
May want to check on that too.
This is what I remember when I was in the army years ago about radiation fallout protection while out of doors. I forgot a lot of it as it was 50 years ago.
I remember being told while outside wear ponchos over your clothing. I can not remember about the headgear but a rain hat would do also. We did not have protective trousers but rain trousers would do also.
After getting to your destination remove the rain gear protection then shower after entering where you arrived at.<br... [ More ]

I just found this and printed it out to have on hand for whatever and whenever radiation becomes a problem where I'm at. I suggest everyone do the same as well as read it now and see what you have already and what you could easiy purchase now.

Don't forget storing food and water and having a bug-out bag ready to go on short notice if you can't shelter in place. Years ago I bought enough plastic painter's drop clothes and duct tape if I ever have to stay inside and seal up my windows and doors for a few days. Note to Jap69- - Like in the movie The Trigger Effect, ;)

PROTOCOL FOR NUCLEAR CONTAMINATION

http://www.naturalnews.com/z031728_nuclear_contamination_glutathione.html

... [ More ]
