See if there are limestone caverns running thru there. The UP. in Michigan has the all over, Best water you will ever taste.

Original Blog Entry: Had something Strange happen on my Big Thunder land.

Yesterday and the day before, 2011-05-01 and 2011-04-30, my Son and I were walking in the wood where My land is on Big Thunder Ln. on the Lac du Flambeau Reservation.

We were looking for the property markers for the 7.4 Acres we had bought last fall.

It was raining a little bit, a little cold, but not too bad.

Anyway, that Saturday, 04-30, I was looking for the Northwest marker, walking and climbing, up and down hills, through brush and fallen trees.

My Son stayed back near the Van to wait for me while I went out to see if I could find the marker.

I had a long handled branch clippers and a bunch of long, fiberglass pole markers; the kind with reflector tape wrapped around it.

I walked back about 1/2 way to where I thought the marker would be; I stopped for a bit to get my directions straight and remember my path.

While I was standing there I felt the clippers vibrate, like someone grabbed the end of the handle and wiggled it back and forth quickly.

About 5 seconds later, the same thing happen to the pole markers.

I did not tell my Son, I didn't want him to get spooked out about the place.

The next day though, when my Son and I were looking for the Northeast marker, my Son asked me a question about 3/4 the way in to our hike.

He asked, Are there anythings living out here I should be aware of?

I said, Why?

He said, Because I think I may have stepped on something back there, don't know what, but it sure felt weird.

I asked him, What did it feel like?

He said, Well, when I stepped, it felt like something was wiggling my foot and my foot went numb. It was really strange.

I told him it was probably nothing, but I know what it is.

I didn't tell him, but eventually I will.

We left that day Sunday about 1:00p, we swung by the road leading to our land and headed south on Mitten Lake Rd., to head back home.

Along the way, on a fairly straight stretch of the road, we saw something fantastic.

From out of the wood came what looked like a Gold Eagle or maybe a very large Hawk.

It didn't just fly way in to the wood again or go off in some other direction.

It follow us, right in front of the Van, like it was leading the way Home.

At about mid travel, the Bird looked right back at us as we were traveling together.

It flew with us for about 10-15 seconds and then turned in to the wood.

That was a Strange, Amazing, and Fun time we had back in Flambeau.

I have to move back up there, Some Day.
