<br />It has been proven that concealed-carry of firearms is directly proportional to crime rate. The more people packing heat, the lower the crime rate. Illinois is the only state that has NO provision for concealed-carry. Chicago has one of the highest crime/murder rates in the country. If ciminals can carry concealed guns, then the law-abiding citizens should be able to also.

Spoiler: No one was actually shot.

A citizen with a gun stopped a knife wielding man as he began stabbing people Thursday evening at the downtown Salt Lake City Smith's store.

Police say the suspect purchased a knife inside the store and then turned it into a weapon. Smith's employee Dorothy Espinoza says, He pulled it out and stood outside the Smiths in the foyer. And just started stabbing people and yelling you killed my people. You killed my people.

Espinoza says, the knife wielding man seriously injured two people. There is blood all over. One got stabbed in the stomach and got stabbed in the head and held his hands and got stabbed all over the arms.

Then, before the suspect could find another victim - a citizen with a gun stopped the madness. A guy pulled gun on him and told him to drop his weapon or he would shoot him. So, he dropped his weapon and the people from Smith's grabbed him.

http://www.abc4.com/content/news/top_stories/story/conceal-and-carry-stabbing-salt-lake-city-smiths/NDNrL1gxeE2rsRhrWCM9dQ.cspx

The cops showed up later to stand around and look useful. No comments yet from the gun grabber crowd.

Where were the cops DURING the atttack? Well, there's tickets to write in them thar hills, people to be tased, and false DUI arrests to make. Besides, real criminals are, ya know, dangerous.

She made hundreds of DUI arrests a year; like Theron Alexander whose case was thrown out Tuesday, and a man the state paid $40,000 for being tasered while sitting in his car, and Shadoe Snyder a 20 year old car enthusiast who also just had his case thrown out.

http://www.abc4.com/content/news/top_stories/story/Man-falsely-arrested-by-Trooper-Lisa-Steed-talks/NiYnaZcd3UWsJAEQ0VgIlA.cspx

Imagine having to submit to one of these psychopaths jabbing a needle into your arm.

At http://www.ij.org/asset-forfeiture-report-utah we learn ... From 2000 to 2004, Utah law was relatively protective of property owners, but no longer. Today, while the government must prove property is related to a crime subject to forfeiture by clear and convincing evidence, a relatively high standard, and the government bears the burden in innocent owner contests for most forfeitures, 100 percent of property seized and forfeited in connection to alleged controlled substance offenses is allocated to law enforcement through the Crime Reduction Assistance Program.

Finally, a govt program with an appropriate acronym.

... [ More ]
