I'm surprised the writer didn't provide a video of himself doing a cheerleader routine with pom-poms and all while he told the story.<br />And if the crowd was "estimated" to be around 20,000, you can be pretty sure it was closer to 200, max.<br />It's not that easy to get hordes of atheist schmucks together to celebrate their non-belief in something.<br />They're usually too busy, out looking for crosses that "offend" them.
