You want to remember if Obama is reelected there may be at least two openings coming up on the supreme court bench within the next 4 1/2 years. If that happens you could end up with a liberal court for years to come. Obama would like nothing better than that to happen. Ginsberg is expected to announce her retirement after this session for one. That will leave Obama to nominate a liberal and push for approval before Jan 20th.
