Gays aren't a legally recognized Minority, Louise. There are no set-asides or Affirmative Action or guaranteed jobs ahead of everybody else for gays. And I don't think the govt. is giving out contracts for high-fashion hair stylists anyway. And thank God they don't have to hold up construction projects until they can find gay construction contractors. We should count our blessings.

I read an article a while back about the City of Chicago doing a big sidewalk and curb replacement project in one of the neighborhoods.They had to award a certain percentage of the contracts to minority concrete contractors. Well, it didn't work out too good cuz they had to go back and rip out and replace all the sidewalks and curbs the minority firms poured because of the substandard work. But they still got paid. Just remember the President has to have the help of the Congress .Question for you how long did it take FDR to bring this country out of the" Great Depression" .
