Tenure needs to be eliminated and teachers evaluated as any employee is evaluated at any job. If their students are failing, the job needs to be evaluated and determined if that teacher is in control of the classroom. Respect in the classroom should be taught at an early age, reinforced from home. The problem in urban schools is lack of support at home.
