My own personal peace movement, although not easy at times, consists of interacting regularly with my (R) counterparts. We agree, we disagree, we agree to disagree. The best part is that I learn a lot about why a certain type of people think and act the way they do towards Democrats and blacks in general. In turn, they learn from me why a certain type of people act and think they do about Republicans and whites in general...it's very productive.

I tell them about my posts here a... [ More ]

Yes it can and will. There is a new generation of children that is determined not to make the same mistakes of their parents and grandparents. I was a middle school science/math teacher for 30+ years in one of the largest school system in Georgia. I was privileged to teach some of the brightest students in predominantly white and predominantly black schools. As a teacher, you cannot have respect of person. You must be color blind. If you are not, the students will spot a phony in a minute. But I found that when students respect you and your actions speak louder than your words, they will open up to you and share their true feelings. I have always had a good rapport with my students.

I use to ask my students the question: Are you the lost generation or generation X as many like to refer to you as? Their answer was always no! They use to tell me that is the same thing they use to say about my parents and their parents. That too was a lie from the pits of hell. I use to say to them every generation has a chance to make things better for everyone. That is why I m so optimistic about the future.

Let s face it. This generation does not share the mentality of their parents and grandparents. They believe we can live together in peace without racial divide. So yes, America can and will solve this race problem, it will take our children generation to accomplish it. I pray that GOD let me live to witness it.

... [ More ]
