Republican members of Congress have tried to repeal President Obama s health care law for the 40th time! Trying and then trying again only confirms their radical, blind ideology. They choose not to see, or worse yet do not care, that the American health care system is not only corrupt but also deadly. Because of this ideology, the Republican Party will have to take responsibility for the forty-five thousand people who die every year because they have no insurance or lack adequate insurance.

Since the stock answer from the Republican members of Congress is repeal and replace, they might choose to show real leadership and responsibility by introducing a bill for Universal Health Care. Thirty-two of the thirty-three developed nations around the world already have Universal Health Care, with the United States being that thirty-third lone exception. The least the Republican Congress should do is to stop trying to kill the business in the United States seems to be the catalyst for this blind ideology on the part of the Republicans in Congress. This past year the NRA spent $18 million on lobbying and campaign contributions to the Republican Party. This inability to pass any National Gun Regulation law makes them, at the very least, partially responsible for the 30,000 Americans that are killed by gun violence each year.

This blind ideology, displayed by the Republican Congress, began on the eve of President Obama s election to the Presidency. A secret meeting took place attended by Republican elected officials and the only discussion at this meeting was how to stop President Obama. They all PLEDGED to make him a ONE TIME PRESIDENT and to NEVER COMPRIMISE and to just say NO to any future legislative plans. This destructive tactic forces one to ask the question were the Republicans against Obama because of his policies or because he was the first Black President? Since racism is still so prevalent in our Country this is a legitimate question. Does the same prejudice that existed for Jackie Robinson still exist today? Jackie Robinson was subjected to the worst kind of racial slurs and hate-filled remarks one could imagine. One has only to listen and look to see these same racial prejudices within many of our Nations Lawmakers. They may not be as blatant, but they are no less relevant.

President Obama may not be the President you voted for, but he is the President. The President that won election and the President that was re-elected by the majority of the American people. Whatever the reasons might be that this Republican Congress is not working with this President are impacting ALL of the American people. Ideology is fine to a point, but when it begins to hurt the majority of our Countries citizens then it must be set aside and the People s work must be done. This is where our vote counts. This is where we, the people get to say. Add your voice by using your vote and making it count in 2014 and 2016.

... [ More ]
