Get a humidifier. They aren't that expensive. I like the whole house humidifiers on the HVAC system and they make a diff. just turn it of in the warm weather. The moisture helps swell the window and door seals and helps keep the living space warmer. Dry air is bad in cold weather.

Good idea. I set up a pretty 5gal. fish tank in my bedroom. No fish - just pretty pebbles and plants. Works nicely for breathing.

While sleeping in my bedroom at night especially during heating season the room is dry and I wake up with dry mouth and thirst during sleeping hours.

I do not have a humidifier to put humidity in the air. Do not feel like buying one either.

The other day I thought of an idea to put humidity in the room. I took a household pail yesterday and put about 4 inches of water in the bottom. Then took a small hand towel and moistened it in the water and draped it over a wooden rod which lays on the rim of the pail leaving the bottom of the towel in the water. The towel hanging in the water acts as a wick.

It has been there about 24 hours and the towel is still wet and the water in the pail looks like it has used about one pint or so of water.

I awoke about 4:30 am and did not have a dry mouth and thirst The air feels more humid and does not have that dry heat feel.

... [ More ]
