Benghazi Transcripts Released; Show Obama Was Clueless

In the immediate aftermath of the September 11, 2012, attacks on the US Embassy in Benghazi, the White House along with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton put forth the narrative that an anti-Islamic film by an American citizen was the cause of the protest which then spiraled out of control and turned violent.

However, recently declassified transcripts from hearings before the Armed Services Committee clearly show otherwise. In fact, the transcripts show that top military officials knew from the outset that what was underway in Benghazi was a terrorist attack. This didn t stop the deluge of Obama administration officials that denied any terrorist connection in regards to the attacks. Nor did it stop them and the mainstream media from ridiculing those who believed otherwise the same derision shown to the birthers . The administration was quick to avoid any appearance of a commander-in-chief derelict in his duty to defend American lives abroad for fear it might cost him his reelection.

Howard Buck McKeon, the Chairman of the House Services Committee, pointedly asked Gen. Martin Dempsey, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, if the Obama administration was any mention of the cause of the attacks being related to an anti-Islamic video. Gen. Dempsey acknowledged some discussion related to that, but made it clear the issue was presented by the military as an outright attack on the United States with two key officials missing.
