Sully, your response just popped up so I am alittle late responding given. Thank you for your kind thoughts and hey, I understand a lot of what your saying and agree that there is too much enabling going on in this country. Not everyone is abusing the system though either, there are some people out there who have truly had a turn of bad events that put them there and some who have fallen prey to health problems as well. This is why it really bothers me that people take away from those truly in need by abusing the system because they don't need it. I think we should support businesses, but I won't go as far as you do in thinking they have our best interest at heart because most of them are greedy and abuse what they get already. When their success doesn't trickle down to the employees who helped make that success...yeah this happens way too often and this country enables and rewards them as well when they don't deserve it. But oh well, it's a give and take and good and bad with anything. But people in this country have got to look at things with a clearer open mind and not be so confined to political parties ideology in my opinion because they are all corrupt and none of them have our interest either in mind. Many of the poor. are so, by their own doing, but to watch people become poor because of big government, I do have issue with that. Many business owners cannot hire, I work with these people on a day to day basis. A given person knows that they're a pretty good driver but, they cannot account for the next person. Then, we have those that purchase policies directly relevant to the type of vehicle they drive...and the agencies also regulate what you can and cannot get away with. New vehicles require full coverage and you and towing etc. Older vehicles need only to have liability for the most part but, you can opt full coverage. Now here is the kicker and this is why i take issues with democrats. They do not take into account your assets, financial state and subsidizing way too much. I did qualify for a very small subsidy when i should not have. My income this year course changed with my husband passing last year, but i bring in over $4000 a month right now. I have savings accounts, 401ks, other investment accounts and now on top of that i have a huge life insurance policy to add to it plus his employer policy that guarantees me $500 a month for as long as i live that me and my husband always had in place. I have no bills, house paid off, car paid off no credit cards no debt. I did qualify for a very small subsidy and they wanted to qualify my two teens with CHIP. Well i wasn't having that and given they qualified for it they could not go on my market place plan, i went and got them private insurance and wow expensive but i am not putting the girls on medicaid no way no how because in this house we don't do that when we certainly don't need it. I would be taking away from others kids like the one you spoke of...not right. I had to go and look into all of this just to understand how in the world they qualified for CHIP.....so folks out there complaining they can't afford it baffles me.... [ More ]

Sully, the way obamacare was set up towards business was indeed bad planning and handled poorly. I can't believe they didn't see the problems it would create on that end. From what i understand though, business requirements have been delayed if i understood correctly or certain aspects of it. Hopefully they can make some changes during that time regarding business, but then again we are talking about politicians where common sense does not exist. Thing is though, that family should qualify for medicaid especially with the expansion and if they don't they will all but get their full premium subsidized given their financial situation. There daughter though will qualify for CHIP, the children's insurance with no premium so she will never go without insurance and really neither will they, but how their jobs have been effected, gotta love our bright politicians and i hate to hear that. I agree it's the middle class that is getting hammered and all i keep saying is who is looking out for the middle class? dems take care of the poor, repubs take care of the rich, but who is looking out for the middle class and small businesses... First our troops, we not properly armed, and that was on congress, it just happened to be a democratic congress. I watched my neighbor strip the siding off his house in -2 degree weather, he took it to the scrap yard to get cash, to help pay bills, he lost his health insurance and his daughter is a special needs child, his wife, like me, is only allowed to work 28 hours at her workplace, or go find another part time job, not easy when you have 4 kids. these cuts are 100 percent because of d... Maddog10, I am not saying what happened there was right from what we know so far...at least what I know...but there have been a lot of wrongs done from both parties and this is not a isolated incident. I am no more a fan of dems then I am of conservs but there is no party that is 100% clean and to throw stones as if it's only happened in the dem party is just unreasonable. It doesn't make it ok though.

Ya know what Candle, I think you're a plant, Many of my friends and family lost their healthcare coverage, and no obacare is not more affordable, especially those with pre existing, I have heard the stories first hand. the rates are higher, only those with low income can afford it, as they are being subsidized by tax payers. The down fall of this country happened because of Clinton, it just happened when Bush was in office. I enjoyed the stock market during the Clinton years, but looking back, I see the damage the free for all caused. I am not sure what it is that people are scared of in having a possible Clinton in office again, was it the prosperity or was it the surplus instead of national debt that Clinton left the state of this country in when he left office? i don't favor any one political party over the other, just individual politicians based on what they do regardless of their party affiliation and these are just the facts when her husband ran this country for 8yrs....then W came into office and look at the mess he left behind for the next president. There have been shabby presidents from both the democrat and republican party, but Clinton's presidency is what it is regardless.
