If you choose to disobey it be prepared to face the consequences. But before you do, if you have any plans of making a career out of it, disobeying a direct order is one way that can end it for you. She had twelve years in so she was probably a lifer(someone that do 20 or more years). It is obvious that her hairdo was more important than her career, I hope it was worth it.
