Finally someone who see's what happened in Ferguson as it really is. Yes black media does support blacks, but when you add the truth into that, it's a entirely different situation. Percentages and all...

On a side note, the Huffington Post ran a story today stating that African-Americans should be allowed to open carry firearms since the overwhelming majority of them do not have a criminal record....my stomach knotted up badly after having read that particular paragraph.

There's someone here on LP who's name I won't mention, but we know who he is, is confusing people with skewed data.

Below is an excerpt by a person who knows the real numbers according to PER CAPITA.

What's the difference between black on black crime and white on white crime? Nothing, inherently. But it is far more problematic because it is far more prevalent.

Blacks compose 13% of the American population. They commit 28% of all crimes, over a third of violent crimes, and half of all homicides and robberies.

13% of the population vs 50% of homicides means that they're not only much more likely to commit homicides, but that others are much less likely to do so - the other 87% of the population only commits 50% of the homicides, thus the black homicide rate is nearly eight times higher than the white homicide rate. And note that the white homicide rate includes hispanic illegal immigrants, who commit crimes at a much higher rate than native born hispanics and whites.

The reason that blacks are arrested more often than whites on a per-capita basis is because they're more likely to commit crimes on a per-capita basis. The question is not the per capita rate, but the per-crime rate - that is to say, if blacks commit 28% of all crimes, they should compose 28% of all arrests. Blacks compose 26% of all juvenile arrests, which is what you would expect if they commit 28% of all crimes. That's not indicative of racism.

This is why anyone who whines about the racism of the system understands nothing. To prove racism, you must prove that they are being unfairly singled out. But people have done numerous studies and failed to find any signs of this. For isntance, blacks are frequently noted as being stopped more often than whites are - but they're also noted as being arrested for committing some crime more often than whites are when they're stopped, which means that they aren't being unfairly singled out, and if anything, innocent white people are unnecessarily stopped by police more often than blacks.

The primary threat posed to blacks isn't white people - it is other black people. Worrying about what whites are doing to them is nonsensical - it is not the whites who are robbing them, raping them, murdering them, or setting their stores on fire.

The idea that white oppression is responsible for this is racist nonsense. How are whites responsible for Brown shoving a store clerk, then attacking a cop? They're not. Nor are black people in general, for that matter - that entirely falls on Brown's shoulders.

But the looting, the rioting, the making-up of stories, people telling people not to talk to cops... that lies on the shoulders of the black community. Whites can't fix that, because they're seen as outsiders.

Brown died because he was a criminal. The fact that the cop was white was wholly irrelevant to the situation.
