The only one here at LP that would contest this is Speedo, he quoted "MLK and Gay rights" were synonymous with Civil Rights. Gay rights only followed the footsteps of the civil rights movement 2 years after Selma, but then what do I know , I'm White.. Bingo! You answered your own question bubba. Civil rights includes all. No one should be bullied, harassed, assaulted and discriminated against because of their sexual orientation. A homophobic person is a dangerous individual.

Civil rights and morality are two difference issues. The former applies to all Americans. MLK did not discriminate against gays. They played a big part in the civil rights movement.
