There are many rich people who play the lottery everyday, we just don't hear about it because they aren't famous like baseball players. So if you are going to complain about these guys you might as well complain about every single person who plays the lottery, but already is financially secure. The lottery is not just for poor people looking for an easy way out. It's also for rich people looking to get richer and get in the news while they are at it.

This is ridiculous...what if Bill Gates decided to buy $100,000 worth of tickets and won? He doesn't need the money nor do the Cincinnati Reds. These guys make at least $300,000, with many making millions and that is not counting endorsement deals, royalties or other income. If the ball boy for the Reds wants to buy a ticket then I'm fine with that, but not Ken Griffey Jr. who lives in a mansion

Lottomike:Pete Rose was thrown out of baseball for gambling on the outcomes of baseball games. It only makes sense, you shouldn't be allowed to bet on an dvent over which you have control, a game you can intentionally lose. In baseball this stems from the Chicago Black Sox scandal of 1919.Baseball players are not prohibited from gambling in general.
