Since balls are harder to tamper with and predict the outcome of any such tampering I doubt Indiana will move in that direction. State lotteries just don't want things like integrity or trust anymore. After all if Indiana can't tamper with the results why would they want it

They have brass on their side, the lottery racket admins. They also have a lot of gullibility on th part of lottery ticket buyers.It's a strange phenomenon. And another thing. People like balls because it's fun to watch, and they can't just pick their numbers and turn on their own ball machine. They like getting their numbers drawn by something out of the ordinary. And dipsy-do can write down 6 numbers and go to random.org.

That's nice, but only when combined with real drawings. Watching footage of someone clicking a mouse button is useless, and would actually be a negative for the Indiana Lottery, because people would realize how their numbers are being selected.

here's the thing. as the director stated in the article, they can't afford to buy air time for the actual drawing.here's the solution (and i've been saying thids for quite some time). upload the security camera footage (video and audio) to the website, so players can see what exactly goes on during the drawing. if necessary, dub it into a digital tape format.

It is the same reason as to why I dont like to play slots at casinos, who knows what these computers are programmed to do. I would rather play craps or roulette where I can actually see the action and the result. That is what they fail to understand. No one cares about security, the only thing they are trying to secure is the bottom line.

indiana officials are in denial about computer drawings.......its like an alcoholic that drinks too much and does everything they can to hide the fact that its killing them and hurting others but they refuse to see it.....just an observation......

No, my issues have nothing to do with some psycho-babble like that. There are real, down-to-earth reasons why computerized drawings are no good. Many of those reasons are listed on the petition page. Have you taken the time to read it

Coming from Texas anything I could point to would sound kind of laughable, but I will put in my two bits anyway.I suspect that all states are trying to squeeze as much as possible out of players. The more the lottery commissions get, the more they want. Things can only go so far before the players wake up and smell the fraud.We can blame the politicians for this squeeze between dreamland and reality. Technical issues aside, it doesn't (or shouldn't) make any difference how the numbers are drawn, though I can understand the psychological reasons people prefer a mechanized draw. People feel they aren't being cheated if they can actually see their numbers come out.

Thank's CashOnly for that bit of useless information. this isn't about PA's lottery. Hoosier Lottery officials if you are reading this can't you see that by continuing with computer drawing you are loosing money take a hint from states that use ball drawings and get back on track with states that know how to treat their players. One to a great time watching ball drawing and the other a chance for them to get back into the game. If you don't make more money using ball drawings then scrap the pick... [ More ]
