It cost me about $10 to drive round trip from my home to GA to play. If gas keeps going up I may have to forgo my MM but since the local gas station is just a mile from home I can still play PB.

If it was going to cost you $20 for 5 Tickets, you might as well purchase Tickets online for the same cost.You'd wind up saving the travel time.

It cost me $ 8 to drive across the border to Maryland from Northern Virginia. If I drove a large pickup, it would probably cost me $ 12 to $ 15 for the 60-mile round trip. I can't see blowing nearly $ 20 for just 5 tickets. With the expanded matrix, it takes nearly $ 30 of tickets to have the same odds that it took $ 20 before California joined. Talk about inflation.

Vancouver can't be that far away. I had to drive to Ranier, Oregon to get powerball tickets and that was from Seattle.

The jackpot of mega millions would have to be three times what is now for me to pay the gas expense to drive to washington and back to get tickets. It is not worth the drive to go that far unless it is crazy money.

I was up at the local Stop Shop earlier. There were three separate collections going on. The two for food had full baskets. The one(s) for money, at each register, were also filling up. I heard the Volunteer Fireman were hitting the streets all week-end with their buckets.

Wait until we get up there to like $200,000,000...I think the California prizes then will be really sucky. There will be just to many winners.And yeah isn't that a small increase. I mean they did sell 37 million tickets. The next jackpot after Tuesday should be around $200,000,000. If it is not I will be disappointed. Brad

It is kind of small, but I think a lot of people had other things on their mind (rather than playing the lottery), and the news cycles were filled with hurricane disaster stories, so there was no room for jackpot news in the mainstream media.
