Why? It would impact the publicity around the big number; and the people who get in on the game don't do it until there are big money's in the jackpot. The average player I see in the stores doesn't even know what second place is about. Why promote second place, when you can promote the monster dream and double the sales - thus double the take home bonus at the end of the year

Chew:AFAIK if any of the second-prizes are not claimed, the 200k base prize would revert to the MUSL member it was sold in, with the rest given back to each of the 29 lotteries in proportion of sales.

At least two did, but it doesn't impact the bonus money, only the base $200K. What I would like to know is, have all of the 49 stepped forward? Or did the lottery make money on those who threw away one of the sub-tier winners.

Well here in my city, there was one Match 5 winner and they already received their prize. A group of about 25 went in. Mostly blue collar workers who look like they can really use the money. Each got about 25,000. One guy will use it to take his daughter to Disney World.
