You'd think these clowns would know whether there is a conflict before they accept the position. Unless, of course, they thought they could sweep it under the table of friendship. Friends nominate friends. Business associates nominate business associates. Keep the outsiders away at all costs. Sounds like the personification of a clique to me.

This is borderline ree-diculous.It's not as if he started a company that manufactures the paper rolls on which the tickets are printed! C'mon, he has to back out because he's got a financial stake in a company that might end up selling lotto tickets?! I guess every board member who has ever bought a lottery ticket should step down, too.

Another member of the North Carolina State Lottery Commission has resigned, saying a potential conflict of interest has made it difficult for him to contribute to the panel.Gordon Myers was until recently a vice president for Ingles Markets and said he continues to have a financial interest in the business.
