Alot of people play for the heck of it. It's an urban legend that only poor, desperate people waste their money on Lottery tickets. Take our Senator Millionaire... made the world-wide news; or, Jack Whitaker from West Virginia, he too was already a millionaire contractor; half the people who win BIG Jackpots are comfortably middle class or better. In my town, a guy who owned a big restaurant hit for 3 million; the Whites in May 2004 hit the largest POWERBALL jackpot in PA history-netted $110 m... [ More ]

HAPPY SUNDAY JUST You know, as I think about it seriously, some people play, just for the heck of it and really don't care much wether they win or lose. If they win that's nice, but it's not that important. Some people have so much money already, that it's not an issue one way or another. As in the Case of the US Senator who recently won $864,000.00......He didn't need the money, it was just fun for him to win....I suspect this may be the case w/that couple as well...... [ More ]

Wow! What drama. Almost sounds like one of those rumors you hear, except it really happened. Just to add my 2 cents...I'm also surprised that the terminal was still available to check the ticket at that hour. They're lucky there wasn't a power or line failure. I've been to stores where the machines were off-line, i.e., after the hurricanes, even when we had our electricity back. One thing I don't understand is how they didn't know there was an unclaimed winning ticket until the last minute.
