			<description><![CDATA[<p>I don&#x27;t know specifically about this one, but I do know that before having a clerk throw away a ticket or cash it for less than what it&#x27;s worth, all players should have the clerk run the ticket through the machine. They&#x27;re supposed to anyway before they can give anything back. I should know. I used to be a clerk at a gas station that sold tickets. I, as a clerk, always checked the trash in case a player made a mistake, and I did find a $10 winner from a scratch-off one time. 			<description><![CDATA[<p>The law in California that was written to establish the lottery states that all prizes are pari-mutuel, so that is the way ALL California prizes are awarded, not just Mega Millions.<br /><br />It has worked both ways:  sometimes (like this drawing) the prize is lower than the other states, but sometimes it is much higher. He saw himself on the news purchasing it and the Lottery Office felt that something was not right when the clerk tried to claim it and they  pulled the tapes to look.
