The news comes with a bonus for each store: $30,000 for its owner. Frosch said Cumberland Farms' owner lives in Massachusetts and hadn't yet heard the news Thursday morning.

I doubt if the owner of Cumberland Farms will get excited over $30,000, but all the publicity can't hurt. I hope the money will go to the store and its employees, although I doubt it. I have no idea what a huge corporation does with its share of a winning ticket..probably goes to charity. (just a guess) I'm happy for the... [ More ]

Yes, there is a 180-day claiming period. But, assuming the ticketholder(s) want cash, they have only 60 days from the DRAWING to claim.

The Cumberland Farms store on Floresta Drive was a revolving door of media and frequent customers who had heard the news Thursday morning that one lucky Florida Lottery player bought the winning ticket there.

By 11:30 a.m., store clerk Keri Frosch stopped curious people short and just said with a smile, No, we don't know who it is.

But she does know that receipts show about 4,000 people bought tickets Wednesday night alone.
