NY needs a new lottery chief. I'm sure we'll get one assuming Eliot Spitzer (a Democrat; Republican George Pataki is in his 12th year as governor and is not seeking re-election) wins the statehouse in November. But whoever takes over the NY Lottery probably will be little more than a puppet for the corruption-filled branch of state government.

Congrats to Tom Romero for winning this position! He seems to be real deserving of it looking at his past career achievements, rising steadily up the ladder at a good pace. I wish him well at the new job.

The New Mexico Lottery Authority board of directors met today and named Tom Romero as its new chief executive officer. Romero becomes the New Mexico Lottery's fourth CEO since its 1996 inception.

Romero, 48, was chosen from among 67 applicants in a statewide and nationwide search. As CEO, Romero will direct the Lottery's day-to-day management responsibilities and oversee its 62 employees.
