Actually, ironically, at the time you posted this, I was at Dover Downs doing just that (and watching the cars arrive for Sunday's race). In my opinion, nothing to get excited over. I put $5 in it doing 5 cent bets, and didn't win squat. I quit after spending $3 and had better luck on other machines.

Have you tried Ca$hola yet? I wish Connecticut would get video lottery, since it's part of MUSL, and for that matter I also wish Connecticut would join Hot Lotto.

I could see NY eventually having a statewide VLT jackpot, but given its corruption, it probably would be annuity-only.

I have also visited Monticello. Nice facility. I also recently checked out Tioga Downs. Very quiet there, but the parking lot was full of Pennsylvania license plates. I like how NY's slots, like DE's are smoke free.

NY has approved video lottery at almost all race tracks (AFAIK only Saratoga, which has horse racing only in the summer, won't be getting VLTs.) Twice I've been to the racino in Monticello, and I look forward to playing video lottery in Yonkers.

What the devil does the lottery commission have to do with the NYRA?

They need to get their heads out of their A__, and get this approved. It's not only good for the people who will frequent these, but doubly good for the state.

To the commissioners: Get off your duff and do what you were elected to do, or appointed to do. Stop trying to see who's going to line your pockets first and get this thing done...! Period.........

New York's top fiscal officer is warning a state agency that its delay in approving a VLT casino contract for Aqueduct racetrack is costing the state needed revenues and risking bankruptcy for the New York Racing Association.

State Comptroller Alan Hevesi, in a scathing letter to the state Division of Lottery, strongly suggested that with a battle underway to craft a new Thoroughbred racetrack franchise in New York more is driving the VLT delay than normal bureaucratic reviews.
