The Foss, Oklahoma couple won $1 Million by matching all five white balls for $200,000 and choosing the Powerplay multiplier, which was five.

They won in the Wednesday March 15, 2006 drawing. The story came out on March 17.

Maybe it was Mega Millions (bought in Texas)? 53 was the highest in the old matrix of PB. Or maybe when he played he was still 55.

There was no Powerball drawing on March 17. The drawing was March 18.

Also, was 56 part of the old matrix ? My new PB cards only go to 55...

Is it me or is the powerball jackpot going up very slowly? I know that I have been buying less tickets since they raised the odds from astronomical to near-impossible.

First, how can you win the Powerball by playing number 56 ?

Second, when was the Powerball just a million dollars ?

They can hit the five white balls and have a multiplier of 5x, that's the only way.

And for the $40,000 winner, that can be done only by getting 4 white balls and the red ball along with a 4x multiplier.

Or am I wrong here

Just ask Charles and Laura Fay of Foss in western Oklahoma.

The couple won $1 million playing Powerball on March 17 with numbers that Charles derived while driving his tractor-trailer rig.

He (Charles) would just be driving, hauling fuel, and he had a long route. Charles had some numbers floating around in his head, and we used those, Laura Fay said.
