A new lawmaker wants to raise the minimum age for ALL gambling in Rhode Island from 18 to 21.

The NY lottery does have a minimum playing age of 21...for Quick Draw where alcohol is served.

The main things they need to do is to say what the odds are on the scratchoff prizes, and also when they say it's 10 million or whatever, what is the cash option

Some New York lawmakers want the state to tell lottery-ticket buyers how slim the odds are of winning, and raise the gambling age from 18 to 21 to try to discourage gambling sprees.

But those who oppose change have a ready rejoinder: The state is, in effect, addicted to the billions in revenue that Lottery games generate.

The status quo is likely to prevail.
