I don't get it, Pumpi. What's the joke? Publix is supermarket and that's where many people buy their lottery tickets. Anyway, these girls chose to purchase their tickets at a convenience store. They didn't buy them at Publix where they work.

If I owned store that sold lottery I would not block my employees or even myself from buying tickets there. Essentially it'd be me buying them at a slight discount (store commissions) with an extra prize if I won (store bonus).

I can picture this scene which is one reason I won't ever check my tickets in public! LOL

It might sound strange, but I'm happy to read they purchased the ticket from a store in which they don't work. When I bought my tickets at Publix the other night, the clerk was telling someone about all the cashiers and customer service people who have won a lot of... [ More ]

Two grocery store workers who won $1 million in the Georgia Lottery will take part in a check presentation ceremony this afternoon at the store where they purchased the tickets.

Barbara Chessi Scarbary, 19, of Jackson, and Megan Maloy, 24, of McDonough, won in the instant game Georgia's $500 Million Club.
