I heard an interview with Yolanda Vega on Z100 or KTU this morning as I was heading to work. She is ready to go, and she mentioned that the advertised jackpot amount might even increase today. She will be inside during the drawing...so no worries about frostbite, gusty winds or frozen lottery balls affecting the outcome

The thing about systems is they are an illusion as far as I can tell, being a mathematics fan. If there was a system, then people would win all the time. Lottery officials go to great lengths to randomize; otherwise, there would be no high jackpots. Any groupings of numbers is just a Gaussian distribution. The longer it is drawn the more random the distribution. If there is a pattern, the game is flawed. All balls are designed to be as equal as possible.

When PowerBall gets to a record level, it only increases by $25M thereafter, and the rest from sales goes into a side pool for the 5+0 winners. I wonder if Mega Millions would do something similiar.

I don't like when the relocate the drawing because it can derail my best algorithms! For this reason I included 10 quick-picks from the Leprechaun News in Rutherford, nj because that's how someone won and it's known for the same store to sell two jackpot winners. Use whatever system you like for this drawing, fortune cookies, family members' ages, whatever.

I'm predicting the winners will be a group of people from a Supermarket, in either a suburb of Atlanta or Cleveland.

Well if you're from Ohio, you may have a better chance than most based on past winnings. Of course, being from NY, I think it would be pretty exciting to have a winner from NY, especially since that's where the drawing will be.

Has the winner already bought their ticket? Will they buy it tomorrow at 3pm EST? Or maybe an hour before the drawing? Is it a single mother? A group of factory workers? A college student?

So many possibilities....so many lives that could be changed....and it all comes down to one minute and 102 bouncing balls. Does anyone else find this slightly comical and weird

That drawing was only for $42 million and had about $20 million in sales. It was to introduce Mega to California.

For Mega the only other drawings done at Times Square were on 7/2/04 for $290 million with 132 million in sales and no rollover and on 2/20/04 for $230 million with 112 million in sales and no rollover.

Dog and I drove to Cinci to play 10 draws worth. Ohio Lottery Corp said in an e-mail they honor blind trusts to stay anonymous, plus will cut individual checks for group players. Of course if I win on my Season MM ticket from Mass., I'll just have to deal with one check only and being in the limelight. Good luck to everyone

There's NO way nobody's winning Tuesday's draw. This is what people want from multi-state games. Screw better odds, it doesn't really matter when the jackpot is so big. Just think...someone is sitting out there right now hoping it's them, but for 1 or 2 people, it actually will be. Can you imagine?!?! Half of America is crossing their fingers....good luck

Not entirely true. It has never rolled when they have moved the drawing to NYC. But when they moved the drawing to Hollywood when California joined, it did roll.

It has never rolled once they move the drawing. Then again it has never gotten this big. I'm sure it will be around 360-365 before the actual drawing tuesday night. With the added sales I'm sure a rollover is only a 40% chance.

For those wanting smaller odds and smaller jackpots once the states see how much money is rolling in you can forget about an odds reduction at the current ticket price.
