..........Wow, returning from pathmark one evening I purchased some scratch off's out the vending machine.....One I had won 10 dollars and put it inside my coat pocket, since I was on the bus heading home.......got off the bus and couldn't find it nowhere........

I tend to think what something is worth is you can find someone to pay you for it. I've found on Ebay, alot of people bid stuff up to ridiculous prices in some cases, more than any collector guide gives. I've seen used electronics items on Ebay bid up to near or even higher than the price of a new unit of the same item that I could buy from an online store or at a store locally. I know what you mean. That's why I don't go to casinos any more. I'd have piles of pretty chips in front of me and they were all gone when I left the table.

I've actually won $150 when MegaMillions had that record jackpot a few weeks ago and turned it into $0 by buying more lottery tickets.

I once found an UNSCRATCHED $2 ticket lying on the ground in Boston City Hall Plaza - it turned out to be a $20 winner (unfortunately I couldn't turn it into $1000...

I often find discarded scratch-offs that win maybe $3 or $10 because people rush through them when they buy half the roll. One time I found a Crossword with a few missed words that won $15. But the ticket I bought with it at ELE7VEN paid nothing.

A couple picking up trash along a roadside found a winning scratch-off lottery ticket that led them to a $1,000 jackpot.

Ronnie and Tina Abbott said they found a lottery ticket worth $15 Sunday while picking up garbage along a Clinton County road near Frankfort, about 55 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

The next day, they cashed in that ticket at a local store and bought one that turned out to be a $1,000 winner.

It does pay to pick up trash, Tina Abbott said.
