Reality check. It was a quickpick? It was an average lottery player? Could they have handled the extra change? If a tree falls and there are only bears there, does anyone hear it? Ignorance is bliss? Sounds like Alannis lyrics.. when I had 5 of 5 I found it 2 weeks later but for such a relatively small prize there would have been very little mentioned about it if I had not found it for a year. The reason this ticket is still unclaimed is most likely due to there being hardly any media coverage. 1010WINS maybe mentioned it, but nothing on the TV news so far. ..................Any state loves an unclaimed multi-million dollar state jackpot......NJ has been in fiscal crisis for the past few years.....19million isn't much in a state budget, but it certainly will help to line some pockets along the way....

I'm usually very private and I hate being photographed (however, they made me do it when I got my driver's license. lol) But if I won $19 million and forgot about it, I wouldn't care if they showed a picture of me on the toilet on the 6:00 news asking Does anyone know this woman

that is a good idea bambini but i guess some people would be worried that the wrong people recognize them and bug them for money or try to rob them but i would rather have my identity revealed on the evening news from security camera footage if that is the only way they can contact me that i won 19 million dollars...

I saw a show once where they were looking for a lottery winner, and they played the video of the person buying the ticket. I don't believe for a minute that a Newark NJ convenience store doesn't have surveillence cameras.

The thing that agrivates me the most is that none of this money will go back to the players once it's not claimed. The person must have misplaced the ticket or never bothered checking or died of a heart attack. Either way they aren't getting the money. In Canada and most other countries the prize money would go back to players in the form of a higher jackpot. I'm sure the politicians here are too stupid and greedy to let that happen.

Not a bad idea, JAP69, although it isn't the state's responsibility to notify the winner. I just don't know if I'd want to furnish my personal information and it would also inconvenience the retailers who are mainly convenience stores.

On the other hand, it would be good PR for the retailer to keep that information for its customers.

OK, I give up, where do I get this Exact Order Wheeler for STR/BOX and how much is the vig to use it? Anyway, again, I don't go to Newark to play Lotto, or even to play tiddlywinks, being that no offense but it's a little dangerous there not to mention overcrowded and congested. I can't even find this TWENTY7FOUR store or whatever on the Google satellite maps. My friend has a stack of unchecked tickets but it's a slim chance they played in Newark at that time at that store. I have said it before.

This is another case where if lottery tickets had your ID in the computer for that ticket the lottery could contact you. Having your ID in the computer for the ticket should be proof enough if you lost the ticket.

At least have it on a voluntary basis if you do not like the idea.

Looks like someones 19 mil down the toilet.

And i am here asking for only 1 million dollars....

I heard the store received 2,000 dollars only? Here in Georgia the store gets 25,000 for selling the winning ticket... MY gosh this people are so stingy....

It hurts me to see that they willing to charge 50 dollars for a raffle ticket, and yet they're not willing to give the winning tickets no one claims and form a sweepstakes...They could have use 19 million dollars and break it down into 19 1-million dollars and give it out as sweepstak... [ More ]

Time is running out to claim a New Jersey lottery ticket worth $19 million.

The person who has the single winning ticket for last year's April 24 Pick 6 Lotto drawing has until Tuesday to claim the prize, lottery officials said.

The ticket, with winning numbers 05-24-27-28-33-37, was sold at a 24 Seven convenience store in Newark last year. The store received $2,000 for selling the winning ticket, according to NJ Lottery spokesman Dominick DeMarco.
