Journalism in Great Britain is a little crazy. The Daily Mirror is a very conservative publication, far right. I'm sure this is a story that attempts to put down the lottery, much like the publications here in Oklahoma. Right wing conservative, if you don't do it my way you are wrong. Come to a small rural newfoundland Canada town and you will be just fine. We do not care how much money you have. We are a great bucnh of poeple and we are loved by many.

Life is great here!

Something to consider... you could move here and blend right in and no one would brother you unless you let them.

You can never win too much Money... Decide how much you want for yourself and just give the rest away to a good Charity that will give to all charities.

She is being a decent mother and not going off galavanting around the world. She is maintaining a somewhat normal life for her kid, and yet folks misinterpret this article with such rhetoric. She isnt blowing the money. I empathize with the idea of being hounded by the press or hand out stories. No one needs to endure that on a daily basis. Mabey it's just me but I don't think the lady is depressed, I just think mabey she's lived a lower/middle class lifestyle all her life and dosen't know how to be extravegant. She may be a little depressed or regretfull of all the media attention but what's done is done. And as far as a life coach I personally think their full of it. The first thing most advisors say when you come into a large sum of money is to not make any large changes in your life. It appears to me that that is exactly what she is trying to do. I give her credit for not going on a spending spree. The article states that she was given advise by financial experts and I think she took it to heart. No new cars, houses or clothes. Good for her, once things settle down she will have plenty of time to decide what to buy.

You're absolutely correct. We just have to listen to the evening news to realize they slant stories to fit their brainwashing agendas.

Most egregious example is the US's current manufactured recession via devaluation of our dollar on world markets ... which the hate-US-press has hammered away at the past few years.

Konane, I agree. As long as people can't remain anonymous, they need to protect their privacy. We also don't know if she posed for all the photos. I have personal a story about the press and how they manipulate stories with photos, but it's too long. (unless someone is really dying to hear it) They often choose the picture that fits their story, whether or not it portrays the person honestly accurately.

The money, all of it, is her personal property to do with as she chooses whether anyone agrees or not. If she chooses to have a money bonfire then it is hers to burn.

Same with her lifestyle, personal style to be and look as she chooses.

That's what I got from the article. The publicity may be part of the problem, but it sounds to me like her biggest probems are that she isn't (yet?) comfortable with that amount of money and she no longer has a routine to keep her occupied. The latter is the reason that a lot of people have a lot of trouble when they retire. 72 million is a lot of money for a person. Now, for a business it is not THAT MUCH ...

In the NET it is written something like 'that for entering the Japanese market share, it would need a Business with a money movimentation over USD$ 50.000.000,00 and profit over USD$ 5.000.000,00 per fiscal year'. If this (old) information is valid or correct is unknown for most persons!

Doesn't sound like her life changed much after she won the money. She's still living in a cramped flat in the run-down Scottish town of East Kilbride and eating at McDonald. She quit her job, put on weight and now drives a borrowed second-hand car and is no longer sharing lunches with her former co-worker and boy friend.

The British are especially celebrity crazy and love the tabloids. They make a hero (or goat) out of any one in the public eye. It's unfortunate she's not enjoying it, but I think it's more a function of the media IN THE U.K.

(A) Pumpi, in Japan they use Yen which is entirely different. It says clearly in the article that she won the equivalent of $72 million American dollars. How can you believe that's not a lot of money anywhere in the world? You are being absurd.

I hope i got this correctly for i wasn't going to read all that entire page...But i think she won 35 million pounds....I don't think 35 million pounds in England is a lot of money....I'll have preferred to move to the States (no not Canada)...I think everything in England is Expensive, same with their currency...Japan is another country too i think.....

I don't have any sympathy for this lady. Changes in life happen, wether its the death of family member, divorce, losing a job, or winning millions, you have to learn to cope with changes.

Personally thats what I think is wrong with this lady, she thinks she can keep the same life she had, and that is just not possible. She needs to accept the changes in her life and move on.

I agree, although here we won't have much of a choice and in FL all names are released, but a person can limit the amount of media exposure she receives.

Also, if this woman was struggling to pay her bills when she hit, it was indeed a blessing, not a curse. I realize nothing prepares a person for a major life change like winning millions.
