here is another one - in fact, in just the past month over $5 million hasn't been claimed (and that's just what I've seen) Maybe sometimes a winner comes forward at the last minute, although I doubt it. Perhaps the person who won this ticket in Orlando was on vacation at Disney World and thought it's in a pile of souvenirs!

Okay - here's my Christmas confession. Sometimes I put a fresh Kleenex under my pillow before bedtime so I don't have to get out of bed if I wake up sneezing.

Used condoms. Now they're really disgusting. I mean, even phlegm can be dressed up with cutesy faces like the characters in the Mucinex commercials, but there's no way you can do anything to dress up a used condom. I guess I'm disgusting also. I have clean tissue in my pockets all the time. Especially since I've been sick and this is the cold season. I like having it around so I don't have to wipe my nose on my hand or something. lol. Who knew tissue was so gross

Really? I find hankerchiefs very disgusting, unless they're just for decorative purposes, like in a suit jacket pocket. At least a tissue gets used once or twice and tossed. If I blow my nose I might put it back in my jeans pocket or even my pocketbook until I find a trash receptacle. So I guess I'm disgusting.

I put a couple tissues in my pocket before I go out for a walk because I get a snotty nose easily, especially in the winter. If I have a used one I'll throw it in the trash as I walk into the store to get my lottery ticket or wherever I walked to, but there's no place to throw anything away on the way home. So it gets stuffed back into my pocket and sometimes forgotten and washed.

I may have washed tissue that was left in my clothes, but I have never put a lottery ticket in my pocket. lol. I don't put my tickets in clothes. I have a lottery slip cover that I put my tickets in. I don't like them to get bent or anything.

Larry, I agree with both of your paragraphs, but Florida has a very high amount of tickets that are unclaimed. One reason is that we have so many tourists that probably throw them in their suitcases as souvenirs. However, take a look at the average age of the people who win here if you get a chance. Many winners are over 80. I have a friend who is 85 who buys tickets and puts them in her sewing basket. She is very forgetful. I doubt if she tells her family she even buys them, since they do... The odds that so many people won a jackpot and died before they could claim is too high to go with that theory. It would be like, someone won, and died within a few days of winning, and nobody thought about checking the ticket.. multiply by several times. Or they waited 5 months and they were going to claim just before the deadline but then they died? Most winners claim within a week so the odds someone dying in that short a time frame is very rare.

Nobody has to ask me what I think! Earlier this month I read a similar article about a $2 million Fantasy 5 jackpot that was won in Sunrise. It doesn't affect my life, but to imagine I've been playing every week for many years and finally someone hits the Lotto and loses the ticket or forgets about it...it's too mind-boggling to process. A lottery winner has one last chance to claim a $3 million Florida Lotto prize.

According to Florida Lottery officials, a winning jackpot ticket bought in Jensen Beach for the June 27 drawing is still unclaimed, and the 180-day limit to claim the $3 million prize expires at midnight Monday.

The Quick Pick winning ticket was sold at the Ocean Breeze Liquor Pub in the 1800 block of Northeast Jensen Beach Boulevard.

The winning numbers for that drawing were: 08-13-14-32-43-48.
