I would just be afraid that if they privatize might the new owners feel it is more cost-effective to computerize everything

What a bad idea. New York and other states, make your games more attractive and you can increase sales. New York could take a lead from her sister state for one, (New Jersey) by not taxing lottery winnings, that makes your games more attractive. Another would be to increase the pay outs on the daily games like Pick-3 and Pick-4. A straight pay out on Pick-3 is $500.00 in New York and $5000.00 on Pick-4, the on-line games pay out can go as high as $900.00 and $9000.00 respectively for those game... [ More ]

New York may try to cash in on the future its lucrative lottery as a way to create a permanent education fund, and Wall Street is interested in taking the bet.

The stakes are high for everyone, from students who could get better education to poor communities that might see more grocery money scratched away.
