The terminals are mostly located in bars, taverns, restaurants, and bowling lanes in the cities with larger populations. I'm about 25 miles from the nearest and haven't played, but I will and let you know. The Ohio Lottery web site has a list of the Keno retailers and shows the results of each drawing. Players can cash their winning tickets at any of the regular lottery terminals too.

I would probably compare the new Keno game in Ohio to the off track betting the race tracks had for years. We don't have to bet on each race at all the other tracks; it's an option just like a Pick-3 player has the option to play Rolling Cash 5 or Mega Millions.

Bars, taverns and other settings where people can sit down relax, eat, or drink will benefit the most. People can play Keno while eating their meal and depending on the popularity, some businesses may expand with Keno parlors. One of... [ More ]

I love playing Keno every day, but I am skeptical of a Keno lottery with so many

draws each day and with such a good availability.

It's highly addictive and some people will empty their pockets much faster than

with a ordinary lottery.

Keno is played using a field of numbers from 1 through 80. You can select - or choose Quick Pick - up to 10 numbers in that field. Not to stray too far off-topic, but the El Cortez and Fitzgerald's consistently offer the highest overall payoff percentages across the board for live Keno in Las Vegas. Some friends of mine have had issues with Keno tournament conduct at the Fitz, though, and I avoid playing there.

Here is the payment info from the Ohio Lottery website regarding the Keno game.

Prize value based on $1 wager. For wagers over $1, multiply the prize amount by the amount wagered.

Themaximum prize payout for a single draw game for each of the 10, 9, or 8spots top prize will be $20 million. In the event of multiple winnersfor the top prize in a single drawing, in which the total payout forthat drawing would exceed $20 million, each ticket would be awarded aproportional share of the $20

The Orleans and Gold Coast in Vegas have better Keno payoffs* than most and Ohio's 10-spot payoff is at least comparable because the jackpot ($100,000) is the same and Ohio paying $5 for matching zero numbers and $2 compared to their $1 for matching 5 numbers. The 6 to 9 matches highly favor the casinos.

The 7-spot in Ohio pays $1 for matching 3 numbers and most casino games pay nothing and you get your $1 back for matching 4 numbers and Ohio pays $5.

Critics and Keno players say it's Ohio's closest thing yet to casino gambling.

Instead of a lottery drawing daily or once a week, Keno games will be played every four minutes, from 11 a.m. until 1:44 the next morning, approximating bar and restaurant hours.

Eight hundred bars, restaurants, bowling alleys and racetracks will be equipped with computer terminals for placing bets beginning Monday. The number of locations is expected to grow to 2,000.
