I always try to buy at least one ticket each drawing. I'd skip buying a soda or a treat before missing the chance to put a buck in a drawing. That way I am at least in the game. However, at the moment, I have some money set aside to play so I haven't missed a drawing in a while.

Im not surprised at the increase in sales. I usaully play $1 a draw as well in hopes of making things better. I have to agree with the two previous posts, I make sure I get my ticket first! It'd be soo nice to be a SC winner

I am too... I always make sure I have my lottery tickets. And all I play is $1 per draw even when the jackpots get high.

If they really must buy lottery tickets, make that the last thing they buy with their dollar, not the first, advised Clark.

Thats probably good advice.I'm ignoring it,though.

South Carolina lottery officials say sales since July are up $6 million from the same period last year.

Lottery officials say profits should reach the $252 million goal needed to pay for college scholarships.

So, the economy is down, but people are still spending on lottery tickets.

Peggy Adams sells them every day at Gullies Convenience Store.

Because the economy is bad, and people are hoping to win some money to make things better, said Adams.
