Pretty much all the states work that way. Plus, it still doesn't answer what this has to do with Hot Lotto. Off-topic replies should be put into a new topic, rather than taking a thread into a new direction.

My point is, the Vermont lottery could use that as a point of difference with other lotteries, and increase sales, which will increase revenue to the state.

I read this on Vermont Lottery's website!

Q: If I win, can I remain anonymous?

A: The name, town and prize amount on your Claim Form is public information. If you put your name on the Claim Form, your name becomes public information. If you claim your prize in a trust, the name of the trust is placed on the Claim Form rather than your name, and the name of the trust is public information.

1. I have never won anything in Hot Lotto or in any game using RNG.

2. I play anyway because there's always a first time.

3. If they add States they better not be adding more balls! oh wait,

they don't use balls. I hope they don't increase variables a and/or b

in the picker subroutine.

I used to play Hot Lotto....and then I found out that they used RNG.

The Vermont lottery is 31 years old this year. Lottery revenues after expenses have grown substantially since its early days. But right now the recession is cutting into those revenues.

Back in 1978 the Vermont lottery generated just $1.7 million. That number had grown to $102 million as of last year. But like everything else, lottery revenues are down this year.
