I hear you on the $1 per play issue. I think they are looking for any way possible to make jackpots rise faster -- that's probably 95% of the reason.

Collecting draw data can be a bit of a pain if one chooses to add all draws into one's data package. And more than likely several years will have to go by before any good can be garned from that data. I will wait and see how this lottery hangs, at 5$ a pop for 3 numbers is one really getting a good chance to win or is it just enough to be in their game.

I actually like the S7 game [8 numbers drawn] but would have enjoyed a much better prize struc... [ More ]

Same game as super 7. tickets cost more though. whoopee. instead of a 10$ win on 4 numbers, now you get 20$. would have liked a pick 4 or pick 5 game.

I have relatives in Canada.

I'm told lot of folks feared that the $2 per play increase for Lotto 6/49 would kill the game.

Guess what. Players weren't happy, but they kept on playing! In fact, sales increased, or so I've been told.

I bet some folks are saying that a $5 ticket (for 3 games) in LottoMax will stop folks from playing.

I doubt it!

The US lotteries should realize that raising the cost of lottery ticket to $2 probably wouldn't hurt the games.

Replaces the retiring Super 7 game

First drawing Friday, Sept. 25

Canada lottery players will have the opportunity to play a new nation-wide game starting in September.

Lotto Max tickets go on sale at lottery retailers throughout the country starting Sept. 19, 2009, with the first drawing held on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009.
