Just calculated payouts with Arkansas scratch-offs:

$1 3 Times Lucky - 62.5% $2 Arkansas Riches - 66.5% $2 Jumbo Bucks - 68% $5 $100,000 Cash Bonanza - 72.5%

Very impressive, already a better deal than Okie scratch-offs. But you'll still have to go to Sooner country to play games with real drawings, unless a miracle happens.

I agree. And, while I'm not anti-religion by any means, I also tend to agree with the poster who suggested that the reason for the prominence of the scholarship stuff is to placate religion-based anti-lottery sentiment in Arkansas.

Don't know if anyone else noticed it, but the tickets state at the bottom that tickets may continue to be sold after all the top prizes are gone...a crooked practice in my opinion, but at least they are upfront about it.

i take no offense, i just think most people are too quick to put all the sheep in one pen .

as far as Christians of all faith, there's only one Faith, one Savior.

as far as your wife, congratulations- i pray she follows the simple message of Christ-love.

and their interpretation of scripture with the lottery being gambling is incorrect. i believe complete scholarly study/facts will relate that.

There are a lot of lottery scratchers that are collectors. First issue should be a top piece for collectors. Unfortunately I heard the ones that have not been scratched at all bring the highest premium.

Lottery directors do tend to bring a lot of old habits with them when they swtich states. Just look at how Rebecca Paul, or Hargrove, or Throatwarbler-Mangrove, started up the TN Lottery, a ton of similarities to Georgia.

Oh! for gods sakes I never meant to turn my post in to a Christian basing, It's a known fact that the bible belt states are among the longest holdouts because Christians of all faiths were opposed to having a state lottery in the first place. Opponents from all faiths staunchly objected to their ever bringing lottery on board.

Arkansas Lottery Web site address revealed!

A closer inspection of the scratch-off tickets reveals that the address for the new Arkansas Lottery Web site is:

http://www.myarkansaslottery.com/

(See it in tiny letters down the side of the scratch-off tickets?)

Right now the site just shows a count-down clock indicating that ticket sales will start in 15 days.

I guess they couldn't use a perfect Web address like www.arkansasscholarshiplottery.com or www.arscholarshiplottery.com. Thos... [ More ]

You know, when I glance at the logo, the first thing that catches my eye is that tassle hanging down -- it looks like a tear-drop to me. Maybe that's the tear that most people will shed when their number doesn't hit?

Or, come to think of it, maybe it looks like a liquor bottle -- like the booze you'll be drinking after blowing your last dime on the numbers

i happen to be one of those Christians and i play....but of course, i budget, play with responsibility, and most of all i show the love of Christ first foremost. i think you'll find a lot of us Christians here that follow that.

so you may want to reconsider your Stereotype

I don't subscribe to the Christian stereotype you're saying. In truth, the lottery will most likely get more money from Christians than anyone else.

I think there are anti-gambling people in every state, but I don't think I would make generalizations about their religion.

Maybe that logo makes the Christian folks feel better about a lottery they didn't want in the first place.

I agree it doesn't have any appeal should have some $$$$ signs on it and a picture of a man and woman with smiling faces holding up some cash in each hand.

The logo doesn't look very fun to me, and it doesn't look like a lottery logo.

I wish the lotteries would stop throwing education in our faces. Most people playing the lottery are happy to see money going to education, but they play the lottery to win money, not to donate to education. Everyone is already paying for education through state and local taxes. Enough

This week was a busy one for the fledgling Arkansas Lottery.

The first shipment of Arkansas Lottery tickets is being transported, and will arrive in the state Monday, Lottery Director Ernie Passailaigue said Friday, and the lottery revealed its new logo.
