The article indicated, They were allowed to keep their winnings including Josefina Sineriz,of Bakersfield, who won $2.8 million when she otherwise would have played for the show's $2,000 consolation prize.

If I was one of those 9 players, I'd be furious and heartbroken! I'd soon be realizing that of we 9, that one of us would have won that $2.8 million or possibly more!!!

I'm glad for all those concerned but...

Isn't it likely that the confidential informant was an underling at the CA Lottery?

And if that was the case wouldn't it be likely that the top suits knew about (or found out about) the switch and weren't going to correct it until they were caught?

Sounds to me like besides rectifying the situation, there should be an investigation of who knew what and when in upper management at the CA Lottery.

The California Lottery will pay $264,000 in additional winnings to nine people whose names were mistakenly transposed on forms during a lottery game show.

Lottery officials say a mistake during a taping in February of the Make Me A Millionaire television show resulted in the nine players playing a different game than they otherwise would have.
