I think it would have to be a cash voucher redeemable at any lottery retailer.

As far as cashing a ticket, I prefer the idea of getting it from a machine. I think I trust machines more than I do Convenient Store clerks. The machines may malfunction on occasion but generally don't hatch schemes and scams in an effort to rip you off. At least if the machine rips you off it will be by accident and not by design.

The machines will dispense draw game and scratch-off tickets and pay out winnings of up to $500 with vouchers that can be used in retail stores.

I don't know about that...Arkansas funny money vouchers? Razorback Bucks?

Will they require retailers to take the vouchers in lieu of cash? Or did he mean that the machines will issue vouchers which can be then cashed at a lottery retailer? Either way, I don't know if I want a machine cashing my ticket.

LOL, rdgrnr. I think that's true in Georgia, too. I was rolling thru Georgia on the way to FL and I asked a woman clerk at a gas station if they sold lottery there and she said, I don't believe in it. It's the devil's work . Although it sounded more like werk , than work .

Congrats to Arkansas. I don't think the introduction of those machines would ever happen in Tennessee though because the snake jugglers would convince our legislators that Satan is somehow involved and he would somehow get part of the proceeds. We Tennesseans hate Satan with a passion. He's persona non grata here. We got no use for him. Be gone Satan

When the Arkansas Lottery awarded a contract to the Greece-based Intralot in August of this year, one requirement was that the lottery services company provide 100 ticket vending machines. The lottery commission has yet to roll out the machines, but a non-operational model can be seen at the claims center in downtown Little Rock.

Lottery director Ernie Passailaigue says Arkansans will start to see the machines this spring, sometime around March or April. But while lottery officials hope to re... [ More ]
